Quantum Bio-Imaging Laboratory

Our experiments are carried out in a dedicated BSL-2 quantum sensing laboratory equipped with an integrated cell culture and sample preparation room, alongside custom-built optical platforms for biochemistry and medical research, including:

  • An NV-NMR setup for nanoscale magnetic resonance spectroscopy;
  • An ultrafast NV quantum imaging platform for immune-cell screening;
  • A stimulated Raman-NV imaging system for multimodal biological imaging.

The laboratory’s integrated biological preparation facilities enable seamless workflows between sample preparation and quantum imaging. We also benefit from access to the wet chemistry laboratory, the shared IB3 tissue culture facility, and the Edinburgh Super-Resolution Imaging Consortium (ESRIC), which provides advanced imaging infrastructure.

Together, these facilities support studies of biological systems across a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. A full description of our facilities and a laboratory photo gallery will be available soon.
