Quantum networks utilise purely quantum properties such as quantum entanglement to establish secure communication channels or to create a quantum computer by inter-connecting small error-corrected quantum information processing units. Our group develops solid-state devices for quantum networking, including bright single photon sources, photonic quantum memories and spin-based quantum networking devices, as partners of the UK “Integrated Quantum Networks” hub, led by Heriot-Watt University.
